Andrew Hueton’s Rise to the Top

A look back at sophomore Andrew Heuton’s physical and mental training during the fall ’23 cross country season.

Andrew Heuton (‘26) won first place on Broomfield’s Boys Cross Country team, securing Broomfield’s state position as 19th overall. Although this year resulted in less praise than hoped, Heuton won in his heart when he achieved his season-long goal of beating the rest of his team mates.

Lila Emery, Editor-in-Chief
Lila Emery is a senior at Broomfield, and the writing Editor-in-Chief for this year’s Eagle Way. This year her goal is to write quality stories and get into college. She has her sights set on the University of San Diego or UC Santa Cruz, but is undecided regarding an area of study. She is a proud member of the Best Buddies program at Broomfield, as well as NHS and Key Club. She also participates in track and runs hurdles with Mr. Hazzard. Outside of school she enjoys the outdoors, running, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Kaia Weingardt is a senior at Broomfield High School and a first year member of the Eagle Way News. Kaia plans to continue her academics at ASU or U of A in the fall, majoring in Sports Journalism and Business. She has enjoyed playing club softball since a young age and has continued playing in high school. Outside of school, Kaia skis in the winter time and loves to hang out with friends. In the Eagle Way, Kaia will focus on writing in the sports column, updating scores on sports in season, and covering other important events in our Eagle community.
