Prioritize study times accordingly
Remember that depending on grades some classes might require more studying and attention than others. It is important to make sure the most demanding classes and important classes are given the attention they need to help you succeed.
Procrastination is temporary pleasure for long term pain
One of the biggest mistakes I see when people are stressing over finals is pushing off work. Time to study is limited already and pushing it off will feel good in the moment and you won’t worry about it, but the stress it causes in the future will get worse exponentially. The best thing to do is bite the bullet and stay on top and if you finish early then enjoy that time after.
Studying is important but so is sleep
Although it can be tempting to dedicate all your time to studying if you are stressed about finals. Remember that late night studying is not nearly as effective as studying off of good rest. Sacrificing sleep for more study time will cut down the quality of studying in very poor ways. It is important to remember that keeping healthy habits will improve the quality of studying ten fold.
Teachers don’t bite
We are really lucky at Broomfield to have the staff that we do. Around the board our teachers are awesome resources to get advice from. There is no shame in coming to your teachers with stuff you’re not confident in. Make sure to utilize this resource
Grades are not the end of the world
There is nothing wrong with shooting for the stars and aiming high, but it is also important to remember that you are a human and therefore not perfect. If you don’t get the grade you were hoping for, it’s ok. What isn’t ok is to give up on those goals. Take what you learn from these finals and use it to build on the next semester. There is always room for improvement so don’t settle for something that you are not satisfied with.
