“So I took a chunk out of my left knee. What happened was, it was Christmas 2017… I mean 2016 and we had just gotten back from Florida. I really wanted to surf but we were in Colorado so I couldn’t do that. So I grabbed my longboard and a tablecloth to make a sail. I was going down Midway going around 25 MPH and I was heading right for 287 so I decided to bail. It was a pretty clean crash, I got up and ran it off. My parents picked me up and we headed home. It was feeling alright and we looked at my knee and it looked like someone had taken an ice cream scoop and scooped my knee right underneath the kneecap. It was completely black from the road rash and there was no way we could clean it. So we went down the ER down in Lafayette to get it cleaned. They cleaned it and it was fine, and they ended up numbing it and everything. It took about seven months to fully heal. Every single day I had to put cream and bandage it up. So yeah that was my worst injury ever.”
