The transition from middle school to high school is always tough. Making new friends and adapting to the more rigorous courses can be stressful for the newcomers. Charlie Vanderburg, a Freshman at Broomfield High School, has had an impressive start to his high school career so far. “School is going good so far. It’s actually a lot easier than I anticipated, and I adapted pretty easily,” he explains. Charlie is an exceptional at tennis as well; as he describes his first season here at Broomfield. “Tennis season went really well for me. I actually made it to state and took 6th place in singles,” he recalls. Mr.Kelly is Charlie’s favorite teacher this year, because he’s funny and works well around kids. However, high school has not been all fun and games for Charlie. “My least favorite thing about high school is the heavy amounts of homework. It gets tough, especially with sports,” he describes. When Charlie has time, he likes to go and cheer on the varsity football team at home games.
