Junior Piper Dumont is a multifaceted Broomfield Eagle. While confidently maintaining a 4.7 cumulative GPA, she has also accumulated over 1,000 volunteer service hours. These attributes have facilitated her acceptance into numerous organizations, both in school and out of school. In October, Piper applied to be a part of NSLI-Y, a prestigious and intensive study abroad program for this summer. She will hear back regarding her acceptance in March of this year. Piper is also a part of the Blue Crew and National Honor Society organizations here at BHS. In conjunction with being an academically inclined, Piper has some thrilling interests as well. Last summer she traveled to Indonesia and volunteered with orangutans. She has a passion for helping orangutans and many other animals, hence she takes the opportunity every summer to volunteer at the Denver zoo. Piper has many respectable goals for the future. Later in her life she wishes to “study some sort of environmental science and then work in Indonesia reintroducing orangutans and finding ways to save their natural habitat.” In her free time, Piper mainly likes to play musical instruments, as she is in a few music groups. According to some of her friends and teachers, Piper is one of the nicest and most genuine human beings they know at Broomfield. She is always willing to help a friend in need, and will always selflessly strive to put others first. This year Piper has adopted a demanding course load, including 5 AP classes. Reflecting on junior year she said “I think it is really challenging, but I know the hard work will be worth it in my future”.
