Memories of Broomfield

Long-time Broomfielder Speaks at Honor Roll Night

Jenna Burgesser, Staff Writer

Sometimes being in high school feels like it will never end. Imagine living a life in which you could have lived the four-year cycle of high school nearly 20 times.

Bob Seaver, a 90 year-old man who moved to Broomfield in 1956, gave a speech about the history of Broomfield. Mr. Seaver has been around to see all of the changes within the community and the uprising of Broomfield High School itself, describing the drastic adjustments that the city has made to accommodate all of the people who have moved here.

On Monday night at 7:00 pm, teachers, parents and administrators flooded into the school’s auditorium to celebrate the academic accomplishments of Broomfield’s students. Those who achieved a 3.9 GPA or higher were awarded a certificate and a rose. This is where Mr. Seaver shared his memories and insights of our city and school, congratulating our honor students.

When asked if he had any advice for the students at Broomfield High School, Mr. Seaver said, “Don’t waste your life, soon enough it will all be washed away. If you put your mind and your studies to something, you can achieve anything. Do not waste your life. It’s too valuable.”
