Classy’s

Previously known as the Broomfield Brew, Classy’s has taken over in the halls of Broomfield High School. The student-run store is open on nights when plays, musicals, and theater events are happening at the school.  Located in the band hallway, Classy’s is the popular place to go to when your stomach is running low before the event. Students who are currently in Prostart or catering classes are the masterminds behind making the tasty treats for guests.

The menu consists of drinks like coffee, hot chocolate, and most recently, slushies that they can make with their new slushie machine. Mousse cups, popcorn, brownies and pastries are also sold at prices all under or equal to five dollars. When preparing dishes, students running the store will estimate about how many people will show up to each event. They are currently trying to expand their menu.

As some graduates may know, the Broomfield Brew was open on Wednesday mornings during the school week. However, it stopped due to a lack of leadership; nobody wanted to manage it. In the spirit of bringing back old traditions, Classy’s is considering opening the store every week on Wednesday mornings next year. Marie Axalan, Junior, says, “If we get enough student support and attention, we’ll hopefully open by next year.”

While the rumors float around in the air about Classy’s reopening on Wednesday mornings, students are thrilled. Ana Wolf, Freshman, says, “It’s a great idea, especially for people like freshman who can’t leave the school and go get food.”

Going out to eat breakfast before school on Wednesday and Thursday mornings can be a hassle. Juliet Steinhauer, Junior, says, “I can’t always make it to Starbucks and I would much rather pay for the school’s prices.”

With a new school year, new and exciting opportunities come through the window. Be on the lookout for when Classy’s makes their move in bringing an old tradition back to Broomfield High School.
