Lauren Hernandez, Editor-In-Cheif
Lauren Hernandez is a sophomore student-athlete at Broomfield High School. This is her second year playing for the eagles. She has always loved writing and is excited to carry that into her first year on the Eagle Way News. Lauren is very family oriented and is always surrounded by her friends and family. Her favorite things include playing softball, listening to music, watching pro sports games, and traveling. She grew up traveling around watching her two older sisters playing sports. She can talk all day about softball and her two dogs, Koko and Rio. She is looking forward to being a part of the news team this year!
Brady Bauer, Staff Journalist
This is Brady Bauer’s second year on staff for The Eagle Way, and he is excited to be part of the broadcast journalism team again. Bauer enjoys broadcast journalism because it is a fun, energetic, and creative class that allows him to share stories with the school. Outside of journalism, he loves to play soccer, where he learns teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. Bauer also enjoys spending time with his friends, listening to music and finding small side quests to do with his friends. A quote that inspires him is, “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”
Jesse Farris, Staff Journalist
This is Jesse Farris’s first year on staff of The Eagle Way, and his main interest in broadcasting and journalism is to help provide important, entertaining information for the school. Outside of journalism class, Farris’s favorite hobby is photography which he hopes can help him contribute to broadcasting and journalism. Farris enjoys spending time watching planes and hanging out with friends.
Dhayra J Cazares, Staff Journalist
This is Dhayra Cazares second year on Staff of The Eagle Way, and her main interest is working with other people and learning about others while producing entertaining videos. Outside of Journalism class, Cazares’s favorite activity is playing soccer with friends. Her favorite subjects are LA and science. Cazares really enjoys going out shopping, going to Chick-Fil-A and wendys, and running. A quote Cazares loves is “The pain you are feeling now cannot compare to the pain that is coming” Roman 8:18.
Mariah Wilson, Staff Journalist
Mariah Wilson is a sophomore at Broomfield high school, she’s currently in her second year of broadcast journalism. She is passionate about storytelling, media production and giving her voice to her school through reporting. Beyond journalism Wilson is extremely dedicated to exploring topics on social issues, academics, writing and multimedia editing. She has tons of experience with public speaking and creative writing. In addition to Journalism, Wilson is interested in leadership opportunities, building strong foundations, and valuing teamwork. She hopes to pursue opportunities in communication, social advocacy, and media in the future.
Kamryn Wimmer, Staff Journalist
This is Kamryn Wimmer’s first year of working with the Eagle Way. Wimmer is very excited to bring positivity and enthusiasm to the classroom and to the Eagle Way News. Wimmer loves interviewing people and is excited to get to know her fellow Eagles around the school. Outside of class, Wimmer is always in the pool. A state qualifier in 100 breaststroke, swimming takes up a lot of her time. On her free days, she loves to spend time with her friends, whether it’s studying for a test or just getting food. Wimmer loves being with her friends. Wimmer is also fairly involved in school; not only is she on the school swim team, but she also participates in three clubs: NHS, Best Buddies, and Interact club. Wimmer’s schedule is full, but she loves staying busy.
Addi Patrick, Staff Journalist
This is Addi Patrick’s first year on staff of The Eagle Way News, and her main interest in the broadcast journalism team is showing the students of Broomfield what makes Broomfield unique and diverse from other schools. Outside of broadcast journalism class, Patrick’s favorite subjects are Language Arts and Science. One of her favorite teachers is Mrs. Nitchoff because she has always made it a goal to make a deeper connection with her students and get to know them outside of school. Outside of school Patrick plays soccer and has been since she could walk. She has grown up with it her whole life and has found a deeper connection with it outside of it being just a game. A quote she lives by is, “You never know what someone is going through, so treat them with nothing but kindness.”
Hannah Antush, Staff Journalist
This is all about Hannah Antush. She is a sophomore and is the first journalist on the Eagle Way News. Her favorite part of working in broadcast is being creative while making fun and interesting videos that people will enjoy. Outside of class, she is a strong student whose favorite teacher is Mr. Hindman, who also enjoys spending time with her friends and has made many friends through the sports she plays. In her free time, she plays club beach volleyball, is an energetic state swimmer on the school swim team, and is a part of FBLA and Best Buddies. Her favorite verse that she lives by is Malachi 3:1, “Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Aurora Kelley, Staff Journalist
Rory Kelley is a first year journalist for The Eagle Way and she can’t wait to work and grow with the rest of the staff. Kelley strongly believes in spreading kindness, having empathy, and making all feel included, and she hopes to bring kindness and inclusivity into everything she does. Kelley loves animals and spends a lot of her time in the mountains with her dog. When she isn’t doing that she is hanging out with her friends at school events showing off her school spirit. She thinks it is important to show up and spread positivity and love everywhere you go, especially in your own community. A quote that she holds close to heart is “It doesn’t cost anything to be kind.” -Paddington bear.
Ellie Conley, Staff Journalist
This is Ellie Conley, she is a junior, this is her first year with The Eagle Way News. She is mainly excited about recording videos and editing them. Outside of journalism class, Conley’s favorite subject is math. One of her favorite teachers is Mr. Techmanski who pushed her because he knew she could do big things. Outside of school, Conley loves to ski and hangout with her friends and family. Conley’s favorite quote is “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
Talon Bruno, Staff Journalist
This is Talon Bruno’s first year on staff of The Eagle Way, and his main interest with the broadcast and journalism team is to produce information and make interesting videos for the school. Outside of journalism, Bruno likes to play soccer, and dominate hurdles in track and field. His favorite coach, Coach Damon, told him to always “give ‘em hell” and play with his heart. One of Bruno’s favorite hobbies outside of journalism is to fish. This next summer he is heading up north to Canada to fish for 5 days straight. A quote Bruno always has in the back of his mind is, “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.” -Muhammed Ali.
Tiernan Holst, Staff Journalist
Tiernan Holst is a first-year member of The Eagle Way News team. He is also a student-athlete who plays on the school’s baseball team. Holst enjoys being part of a team and brings the same effort and focus to writing as he does to sports. Even though this is his first year with The Eagle Way News, he is excited to learn more about journalism and help share important stories with the school. Holst looks forward to improving his writing skills and working with others on the team. Whether on the field or in the newsroom, he always tries to do his best and be a positive part of the school community.
Kirby Pierce, Staff Journalist
This is Kirby Pierce’s First year on the Eagle Way News. His main interest in working with the news is to be better recognized by the school and make interesting videos for the school to use. Outside of the news, Pierce likes to play tennis and hang out with friends. The person he looks up to in life is his brother. He likes to ski and his favorite subject is social studies. He wants to be a teacher when he finishes college and would like to coach the high school tennis team. One of his favorite things to do on the weekends is to watch F1 and be with his dogs.
