Many who watched the 30 performers at POPS prelims last week awaited the result of who would be the ten to make it to finals. With performances such as Maneater, Vienna, and Never Grow Up, it was a difficult decision. But the audience voted, and the ten best performers moved on.
All four choirs will perform pop songs from many eras. There will be songs from the 60s all the way to the early 2000s. This is an event you will not want to miss!
But if this doesn’t convince you, maybe a few of our fellow Eagles—who will be performing—can:
Nava Koren-Zoloto, a freshman in Volare, said “[her] favorite part of POPS is finally putting together all of the singing, dancing, and outfits for the concert, and seeing the end result of how hard we’ve worked.”
Julia Fairlee, a senior in Belles, encouraged that “people should come to POPS because we work really hard to create a fantastic show, and we want to share our passion for music with the community!”
POPS is the biggest concert of the year, and thus takes the most effort to put together. Each choir has choreography tailored to each song, each song has a new outfit to match the themes and vibes of the era, and each choir/performer has fun lights to amplify their performance. It takes months of work, with some of the choirs beginning to learn their songs before winter break.
Our Eagles have dedicated many hours into making this concert as fun as it can be, so let’s do what’s right and show our support. That’s the Eagle Way.
