ITTTSS HOMECOMING WEEKK!!!!

Freaking out about homecoming plans? Wondering what you are going to do for the big night? Worried about how everything is going to play out?

With all of the movies, the TV shows, the advertisements, and the rumors about homecoming night, it’s easy to be subjected to common misconceptions and super high expectations that drain the pleasure out of what’s supposed to be one of the greatest, most memorable celebrations of your life!

But this year, we are providing you with our top four Dos and our top four Donts for the big night so that you should not, under any circumstances, lose sleep over this year’s dance.

Don’t: Go overboard spending money

While homecoming is a special night, it is only one night of high school. The average household spends almost $500 dollars on this one night. THAT’S CRAZY! Don’t worry about spending hundreds of dollars on the perfect suit or perfect dress that you are only going to wear once.

Don’t: Make regrettable decisions

Many things can get out of hand at homecoming. You just need to think about every decision you make and make sure it’s one you won’t regret for the rest of your life…

Don’t: Give into peer pressure

Peer pressure is huge and incredibly easy to give in to. There will be pressure and “expectations” to succumb to the “social norms.” Just because everyone is doing it, dosen’t mean you should. Be smart and don’t do anything stupid! Just think about every decision you make and make sure it’s one you won’t regret for the rest of your life.

Don’t: Worry about having a date

Having a date for homecoming is not a necessity! Your homecoming night is going to be way more fun going with friends you feel comfortable with rather than going with some random guy or girl just to have a date.

Don’t: Put too much pressure on the night

Homecoming should be a fun, stress free night. Don’t worry about what you think should happen, or if everything doesn’t go absolutely perfect!

Do: Make plans beforehand

Have all of your plans set before the big night. You don’t want to be improvising on the spot. Know who you are going with, know where you are going to take pictures, know how you are going to be transported around, know where you are going to dinner, and know what your plans are going to be for after the dance.

Do: Avoid drama

Homecoming is a night when we can let loose and have fun with the company of our friends. Forget about everything, and don’t let some stupid high school drama ruin your night.

Do: Take lots of pictures

You want to remember this amazing night! Take lots of pictures, EVERYWHERE, to remember your high school homecoming!

Do: Enjoy it!

You only get four homecomings in your entire life, unless you’re incredibly special! These are experiences that you are going to remember for the rest of your life. Memories that you will take with you and internalize forever. Live in the moment. Live in the now.
