Artist of the Week – Kevin Giron

Sydnie Ho, Staff Writer

Junior Kevin Giron has always had a passion for art ever since he can remember. “I really like drawing but since I already knew how to draw, I decided to try something new and take pottery.” says Giron. Kevin is currently in Pottery 3, creating pots, sculptures and teapots. His pottery displayed in the display cases, catches the attention of anyone who passes by. “Kevin is a hardworking and creative student. He has practiced throwing on the wheel all year and he is now one of the best potters in the school. Last semester he created a series of wheel thrown and sculpted vases that are absolutely stunning. I look forward to seeing him continue to grow as an artist this semester. I can’t wait to see what he makes next!” says pottery teacher Mrs. Quinlan.

Kevin’s inspiration comes from the outdoors and mother nature. “I really like art because it is quiet and calming for me,” says Giron. Kevin would like to pursue something in the world of art in college but is still not sure.
