Music isn’t just background noise for students, it’s a powerful and influential tool that goes beyond entertainment, enhancing focus, boosting motivation, and deepening the overall learning experience.
Studies show that 50–60% of people listen to music while studying, and it helps them absorb information, according to The Ferris State Torch.
When teachers play music in class, students often feel more relaxed and focused, creating a calm learning environment.
Our Eagles have a variety of tunes on repeat. Several students across campus shared about what they’re listening to.
Andrena LaGuardia (‘27) said, “My favorite song is ‘I’m the Problem’ by Morgan Wallen.”
It’s understandable why people love listening to Morgan Wallen. His music is really catchy and has that classic country vibe that makes you want to sing along.
She’s not the only one with strong music opinions. Charlee Foppe (’27) said, “My favorite artist is Noah Kahan.”
Noah Kahan’s songs are super chill and have deep lyrics that just hit differently, especially when you’re studying or even just driving around. Being able to listen to calm music can help you stay calm and not get frustrated with schoolwork.

Continuing in the country genre, Abby Anderson (’27) shared, “I would love for teachers to start playing Zach Bryan’s music in class.”
Zach Bryan’s music is relaxing, and his songs have so much meaning. It would make class feel a lot calmer and more fun to be in.
It sounds like she’ll definitely be tuning in to Zach Bryan’s new album in the new year.
Zach Bryan fans, get ready: he’s releasing a brand-new album on January 9th, 2026, and it’s expected to bring in around $350 million. Be sure to give it a listen when it drops, maybe even try to get your teachers to play it.
No matter what genre you love, country, pop, or rap, music has a way of bringing people together and making school days a little brighter.
