The game, the first of the season held at Broomfield’s Elizabeth Kennedy Stadium, saw the Eagles dominate from the first to the last whistle.
Quarterback Darien Jackson led the charge and performed quite well with 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
The Eagles’ defense was equally impressive, holding the Monarch Coyotes to 0 points.
The players played near-perfect football in this total team effort, and the scoreboard showed it.
The stands were packed with enthusiastic fans who cheered loudly after each Eagles touchdown. With the crowds’ support and energy, the Eagles worked better, gaining momentum through each quarter and giving their all. The Eagle crowd was loud and proud and stayed until one minute left when we had all knew we won.
Right as the game began, the Eagles knew they were the better team and showed it, scoring the first and only touchdown in the first quarter. Even with Monarchs’ strong defense, which held their previous opponent to only two touchdowns, the Eagles offense was too much to handle.
The Eagles had an impressive 377 rushing yards, topped with 129 passing yards, for a total of 506 yards.
This victory not only boosts the Eagles’ season but also shows how dominant they can be in the 4A North 2 League.
