Heidi D: Spirited Pomie

Rachel Lutz, Staff Writer

Heidi Davis (‘26) is a bright and outgoing member of the community who does dance, is a part of the poms (they call themselves pomies) team, and hopes to join a few other clubs. She loves to participate in school activities when she can.

“As a person, I think I’m kind-hearted. I wouldn’t say I’m an introvert, but I wouldn’t say I’m an extrovert. When I start to get to know people more, then I start to get more outgoing, also for things like spirit weeks. I absolutely love anything to do with school spirit and clubs. I try to do as many as I can, but I am doing a lot right now and really can’t. But, that’s okay, I go all in when I can.” Davis remarked.

Being a part of our community and her dance community also means a lot to Davis. For her, a community is a group of people you feel safe around even if you aren’t necessarily friends. She loves everything about the community in general and believes that we really can be like a family, even if students don’t always see eye to eye.

“I just like the community in general. I feel like we’re a very outgoing group.” Davis said, “Community, to me, is a group of people that you feel safe with. So, like my dance community, I feel safe with those friends. School is a community too, but can be more tense in many ways, which then disconnects you from that community. I think that we are capable of fixing these issues if we tried.”
