The Eagles of Broomfield – Ashley Haman
December 7, 2017
“I’ve wanted to be a Broomfield Pom since probably about Kindergarten when I first went and watched the basketball games. I’d always go to the Little Poms Camp’s and I would look up to them and be like ‘I want to have a pair of poms like that and I want to dance one day with the Eagles.’ The only dance I truly remember was when I was in 4th grade, the Little Poms dance, that was to ‘Disco Inferno.’ I remember that being so much fun. That was when [Coach] Veda was dancing. Hahaha that’s so weird. I started dancing at Elite in 6th grade and I joined the All-Star Pom Team. All of middle school I was prepping to be apart of Broomfield Poms. When I made the team, I was so excited. Freshman year I was so scared about not making it, and tryouts were really stressful and when I made it I was like, ‘oh my gosh! This is a dream come true, literally.’ Yeah, I would definitely say Poms is apart of my identity.”
