What Time? Snack Time!

Friday, December 6th – Staff, Snacks, & Sharing in the Main Office

Every Friday in December, teachers flock to the main office for something everyone can agree makes life worth living: snacks.
Between Thanksgiving and winter break on Fridays, a table in the main office is set up and filled with food–from crackers, to pigs in a blanket, to pulled pork. When teachers have downtime, many choose to come to the office to indulge in these tasty treats.
Snacks aren’t the only reason teachers hang out here, though.
“It gives us a chance to catch up,” said Mrs. Marchi, math teacher. Teachers who operate in departments on opposite sides of the building may not often get to see each other, so teacher snack time helps bring together friends and colleagues.
The north and south sides of the building switch off who brings food every week, which works out well, as the gap between Thanksgiving and winter break is only two weeks long.
This does mean teacher snack time only happens about twice a year, but it’s a bright light for teachers in the dark weeks frantically grading, testing, and creating finals for students while waiting for winter break to arrive.
