This past weekend, Broomfield varsity poms traveled to Orlando, FL to compete in the Dance Alliance High School Nationals Competition. After placing first in the hip hop dance category at Colorado’s state competition in December, the girls were excited to compete at nationals. They competed in three different events in Orlando, each of which they were placed in the medium category, which is based on the size of the team. The events they competed in were Team Performance, Poms, and Hip Hop. They went to finals for all three of these events; they placed 10th in Team Performance and Poms, and 11th in Hip Hop. Senior Claire Tetro said, “It was amazing when we got into finals and we made Broomfield history because poms has never made it into three finals, let alone brought three different dances. I’m really proud of my team, and the experience was fun.”
