Choir Sings at Cathedral Classics Concert

The Colorado Repertory Singers (CRS) are proud to join with the BHS Eagle Ascent Choir for two concert performances. This is a unique opportunity for BHS singers to learn an important classical choral masterpiece as well as experience live performance with adult singers, a professional orchestra and soloists in a cathedral church setting.

Cathedral Classics concert performances will be held on Friday, March 17 at 7:30pm and Saturday, March 18 at 2:00pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church ((1600 Grant St, Denver, CO 80203). The CRS choir, BHS Eagle Ascent Choir, soloists and orchestra will perform under the leadership of Artistic Director, Dr. Kyle Fleming, Conducting Fellow, Kevin Gwinn and BHS Music Teacher, Clelyn Brown.

This program will feature the Mozart Vespers (Vesperae Solennes de Confessore) which is specifically suited for this acoustically reverberant space. This sacred work was composed in 1780 and was Mozart’s last choral work. It was performed at the Salzburg Cathedral in Austria during early evening Vespers services. The six movements will include special guest soloists: Ana Spadoni, soprano; Jenna Clark, mezzo-soprano; Kevin Gwinn, tenor; and Oliver Poveda, bass. The concert will also include works by Brahms and Clausen.
