Suicide Squad Movie Review

DC kicked off the cinematic-comic book genre with Man of Steel but then moved towards a darker direction with Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. In doing so, DC has finally given the movie world what we have been wanting for. As a true DC comics fan myself, I was highly impressed with what they have done. When the first trailer was shown at San Diego Comic Con two years ago, fans immediately applauded with high and great expectations for this film, and I was so excited myself; the idea of them bringing one of my favorite comic story lines to the big screen was a huge and exciting for me.

It was August, the month when they would finally release the film in theatres, and I was so excited to see this film. I couldn’t wait any longer. I walked into the theater with great expectations, and when I came out, after reflection, I realized that my expectations had been met. In my opinion this film was great. It had a really light and fun tone, and it definitely showed when I watched it.

Now, for those of you who do not know what this film is about, well…go see it.

Suicide Squad is the third instalment in the DC Extended Universe, and it’s great. One of the reasons I liked this film was the cast. It is clear that they had a blast portraying the crazy and criminal characters

Even though the critics and Rotten Tomatoes have been rough on DC films lately and give it a twenty-seven percentage, I still think this was good. The problem with Rotten Tomatoes is that the critics may have viewed the film way before it had been released in theaters. Now, this frustrates some people (like me). I have always been a person who doesn’t let other people’s opinions bother me, as long as it is a structural argument. But, hey, I have legitimately seen this film five times and even my friends were shocked at the percentage given by Rotten Tomatoes. While the reviews are poor, Suicide Squad has been crushing it in the box office and has made eight million dollars worldwide. In your face, critics.

This film makes DC fans excited for what their cinematic universe will bring us, Having Justice League and Wonder Woman around the corner, fans are getting the films and characters we have been wanting for a long time.

In conclusion I think that if you are looking for a film with great action, humor, and a sense of adventure, then grab your squad and go see Suicide Squad. Check out the trailer here.
